Stormy's world is so filled with magic and bits of other places that it has been left in tatters. Gods walk the earth and spirits fill the air, and humanity has carved out its own existence in between. In the Atlantic, the continent of Absalong has drifted back to existence in the ancient mists, and in the new world, peace has finally been established between the United States of America and the Muiscan Confederacy...for a while, at least.

And somewhere in upper New York, Officer Stormy Green does what he can to bring a little law to the back woods. In theory, he's a detective, but in reality, Plum County is sorely underfunded and so his job description drifts through most of law enforcement as the situation may require.

It's a complicated, busy life, though he's managed to make time for his garden and his family, especially his troubled, rebellious baby brother, who lives in Plum County, too. Things are about to get even more complicated, because Stormy's just followed his kid brother through one of the thin spots in the world, and discovered an entire universe of magic, mutants and trouble.
